Tom Odelling

Last night I had a pleasant reunion with Tom Odell, this thanks to Nils as I got the concert for my birthday.  The first time I saw Mr. Odell was in New York when Elena and I sneaked into a dinner-concert and got ourselves a table and some wine. I was completely compelled by his stage-presence and the way he humped his piano (didn’t see any of that yesterday though) =(. He and his band have this outstanding energy on stage which simply draws one in. Last night, I started crying during Grow Old With Me because I started thinking of my grandma and grandpa, my ma and pa, whether I will grow old with someone etc. In that moment my romantic, lovie-dovie, “love conquers all”-self thought: deciding on someone for the rest of your life and then do everything to make it work must be the most beautiful happening on earth. In the next, when a new song came on, my cynical self thought: “ÄH! Heck with marriage, people only get divorced anyways” and “ÄH I’ve heard open relationships are the new black.” Only time can tell for me, I guess. I hope for the first though.

I just bought a ‘The Economist’-subscription instead of food. Somehow I thought that was reasonable. Also just got back from the gym where I thought I’d puke all over the treadmill at the same time as I would faint from exhaustion. Second time this week. Get a grip body.

That was a small excerpt from my life.

Over ‘n out.

Nothingness, how you keep us alive

We are literally nothing but we pretend we are everything

If not, life would seem anything but worth living

If only for a second we would taste the true spice of our nothingness, the realization of our blunt faking would hit hard as a volcano – shaking our being till’ we fragmented into all the atoms we are made up of

The Epitome of Nothing shall echo through our useless actions – keeping us from stalling, constantly moving

Thinking is the reason why we suffer

Illusion of constant glee is why we endure

Endearments from beloved ones are the reasons to believe there is more to it than it actually is, this,

Sweat Everyday as Matthew McConaughey Say

I’m in New York on a cold winter’s day.
I’m in the audience of The Actor’s Studio with James Lipton.
The guest of today is Matthew McConaughey.
Lipton asks: ”Matthew, how do you stay so fit?”
Matthew replies: ”Nah, I don’t have a particular exercise-scheme but I do stick to one thing, and that’s to sweat every God damn day.”
Ever since that day my motto when it comes to working out has been, and this, no matter how tired I am, or feeling like I’m not in the mood:
”Sweat everyday as Matthew McConaughey say.”
Because what Matthew meant by that is to actively sweat everyday.
To actively sweat means taking a walk for 30 minutes which reduces your risk of heart failure, decreases your blood pressure and enhances your mental health.
To actively sweat means walking up the stairs in your condo and doing it 10 times instead of 1 which will take up 15 minutes of your day.
To actively sweat means buying a jumping rope and jump for 10 minutes everyday.
To actively sweat is losing physical energy and gaining mental energy.
If your intention is to live a life full of energy and live healthily for a long time then I encourage you to Sweat Everyday as Matthew McConaughey say.

You ruin your life by desensitizing yourself. We are all afraid to say too much, to feel too deeply, to let people know what they mean to us. Caring is not synonymous with crazy. Expressing to someone how special they are to you will make you vulnerable. There is no denying that. However, that is nothing to be ashamed of. There is something breathtakingly beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur when you strip down and are honest with those who are important to you. Let that girl know that she inspires you. Tell your mother you love her in front of your friends. Express, express, express. Open yourself up, do not harden yourself to the world, and be bold in who, and how, you love. There is courage in that.

I’m yearning for adventure, new humans, old friends, laughter, adrenaline-kicks, the ocean, fast runs, sun, sunsets, sunrise, tanned soft skin, kisses, flirts, all smiles, summer-rain, hot weather, become short of breath because of someone, make someone short of breath because of me, breathe the air of the mountains, skinny-dip in mountain lakes and just scream and laugh and live because I can!
